Alta Sueños combines the spirit of home winemaking with access to the minds and facilities of accomplished producers.

Born of restless enthusiasm in the harvest of the pandemic, the project has evolved into a small lot, low-intervention winemaking practice that’s now in its third vintage.

I’m in this to explore interesting varieties and off-the-beaten-track terroir. It’s a chance to better grasp the history of California wine while participating in its future, and to cultivate a style that honors the wines and producers that inspired me to find my way into the cellar in the first place. But mostly this is about making and sharing something that’s worthy of good food, music and company. 

I make wine because I love wine.

There’s no other reason to go to the trouble.
