Years in the making
Prologue: The world might not need another blog, but here’s one nonetheless. This space will serve as an archive for stories & updates shared with the email list; although list members will have received a slightly different version of what’s posted here. If you’ve joined the list recently, this blog will catch you up on the story so far. As a reminder, the only way to acquire wine from Alta Sueños is to join the mailing list.
Dear friends,
Before anything else—thank you. Thanks for signing up, for taking an interest in the project, and for all the support, encouragement and good vibes you’ve shared with me along the way. I’ve probably written about a thousand marketing emails in my life, and I’m damn sure this is the first one intended mainly for blood relatives and close friends. If you’re reading this, in some way or another, you’ve played a role in turning what was a crazy idea into a crazy reality: what started as a long weekend during the 2020 harvest is about to result in the release of my first wine. We’ll pull some corks and celebrate soon.
Alta Sueños wines are available via mailing list only. Use the form below (and be sure to check the ‘sign up’ box) to receive info about releases, allocations, special events, and the occasional story from one of the far corners of California wine.
And now, here’s what’s coming next…
For mailing list members, a special “Friends & Fam” pre-release allocation will be made available, and by taking advantage of it, you’ll be supporting the immediate future of this project. That means bottles, corks, labels, shippers and—oh yeah—the fruit for vintage 2024.
You read that right—Alta Sueños will definitely not be a one-and-done project. In fact, more and more doors are opening with every step I take to push this project to the next level. Trust me, I’m as amazed as you are.
So please watch those inboxes…bottling day and the ‘24 harvest are right around the corner. Members of the mailing list will also be able to read a few upcoming stories about the incredible people and places I’ve encountered on this journey through California wine. And if that’s not enough, the details for a couple of cool tasting events and an inaugural release pick-up party are being ironed out right now.
I can’t wait to share all this great news…or to raise a glass with each and every one of you—very soon.
Until then, cheers!
Mike
